  1. Take transportation from Cusco to Ollantaytambo: You can take a cab or a minibus (colectivo) from Pavitos Street in Cusco. The trip takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours and all the way you can enjoy the Andean scenery.
  2. Boarding the train in Ollantaytambo: Once in Ollantaytambo you must enter the station. From here, trains depart to Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu Pueblo). The journey takes between 1.5 and 2 hours.
  3. From Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu: When you arrive at the village, you can take a 30-minute bus ride or walk up (approximately 1.5 hours walk) to the citadel.

Tip: It is advisable to buy tickets in advance, especially in the high season (May-September).

b) Alternative Route by Hydroelectric: The Economic and Adventurous Option
